Stage 3
Imbalances in tissue state and body systems

In this stage, you will start by comparing your current energetic results with your baseline to identify where there are any imbalances. You then need to consider whether balance would be regained by adding the energetic properties of warming, cooling, drying or moistening.

Using the previous example, let's assume the baseline constitution for this person was WARM & DAMP. To bring their system back towards balance, it would be expected that they would benefit from cooling and drying.

However, when we overlay their current energetic scores, the map produced by their scores actually shows that they might regain better balance by cooling and moistening to reduce the warmth and increase the dampness in their system. Drying their system may cause further imbalance and stress their body.

Do this exercise using your own baseline constitution and current energetic scores and identify which combination of energetic properties are most likely to be needed to bring your system back into balance at the moment.

Use the relevant map below based on your baseline constitution score from Stage 1.

You can now match these properties to the herbs that are most likely to be of benefit. But to be even more effective, it would help to identify the specific body systems that need support and whether the herbs should help to relax or stimulate the tissues in this system.

WHICH SYSTEM IN YOUR BODY IS MANIFESTING THE SYMPTOMS?
Digestive system
Respiratory system
Cardiovascular (circulatory) system
Musculoskeletal system
Endocrine system (glands)
Nervous system
Reproductive system
Urinary system
Immune system
Skin

WHAT DO THE TISSUES IN THIS SYSTEM NEED?
To be calmed down and relaxed
OR
To be stimulated to work harder
